Last night was one of my toughest nights ever in getting to bed.

I did my usual routine of brushing, flossing, etc, and actually getting into bed. With just 10 minutes of lying there with my eyes wide open, I knew for sure that I was restless.

I got up and went outside into the living room lugging my backpack, while heading towards the computer, in the hopes of maybe using this “spare” time to get a bit more organized.

I’ve read in many health magazines and internet sites that when you can’t sleep due to stress try jotting down your plans for the next day. I don’t think I was stressed, but it was worth a try. Anything to help me sleep!

2 hours of reading, organizing, and answering forgotten blog comments later, I was finally ready for bed.

Waking up this morning was really hard, but I did it.

My plans for today:

  • Eat breakfast (I know I’m a weirdo, I have to remind myself to eat)
  • Make cookies for Long’s Students (someone’s having a birthday)
  • Drop the cookies off
  • Run some errands (this will take me hours):
    • bank, go to Kaiser, get finger printed
  • Pick up Long from work
  • go to the gym or walk the lake.

So far, I messed up the cookies. haha. My lack of sleep is getting to me already. I’ll just have to drop by the store to get something for them. Bummer, I was looking forward to eating some cookies myself. Oh well, no point in stressing over that.

Here’s what I ate for breakfast:

A huge bowl of Kashi’s Autumn Wheat breakfast cereal with a huge banana.

A small bowl of fresh strawberries

Flowers Long bought me last night. :-D

Ugh, I hate restless nights – I had one on Sunday night!

Sounds like you have a good plan for your day today though; and such beautiful flowers to admire! :0) Hope your Tuesday goes well!

I hate nights when you can’t seem to get to sleep! The next day always seems to be off kilter as well. :-(

I have to remind myself to eat as well, if I didn’t have a scheduled lunch break at work, I’d likely miss lunch frequently!

Sorry to hear your cookies didn’t turn out. We all have our ‘moments’ in the kitchen, don’t we?

I bet those beautiful flower are helping make your day brighter!

I’m so sorry you couldn’t sleep! I hate that so much. =(

VeggieGirl:
Unfortunately everyone has a restless night at some point. I can understand why you had one on Sunday because it’s the weekend. No one wants to go to bed early on the weekends.

I LOVE Lilies! tehehe

Jennifer:
I think I was 1/2 asleep this morning while making the cookies, but I found the root of the plm though. My baking soda is too old. The cookies didn’t rise and were extremely crispy.
It’s OK though because I think the cake was a better choice on a birthday. Don’t you agree?

I thought that I was the only one who had to remind herself to eat. Isn’t that strange though? I guess we just get so caught up with life that we forget to listen to our bodies at times.

And those flowers are beautiful. The orange Lily blossomed during lunch time. So pretty.

Romina:
You know the surprising thing is that I’m not at all sleepy! I mean I’m a little tired, but my eyes and my body is ALERT. Next time I think I’ll have to take a hot shower before going to bed so that I can relax.
