Sold!
Sorry guys I’m a little behind on the posting. Here’s a recap of the food I ate on Thursday. I’ll have to wait to post today’s food tomorrow morning. It’s a big one. Long and I were testing out our vegetarian wedding food at the restaurant that we’re having at the reception. Yes, Long and I are already married, so why are we tasting our wedding food…? More on that later. Right now just enjoy the food and the good news!

The Honda Civic is finally finally FINALLY sold! It took us a year and a half to do so, but it was so worth the wait. The couple we sold the car to was really nice, so we were set at ease that they weren’t “scammers.” Ever since the car has been on the market, people/telemarketers/groups of people have been trying to scam us left and right. So glad it’s all over with!
Lunch: Left over pho from last night. Later I snacked on Cherries. This batch was really good. We bought it at the local Asian Market for only $0.79 per lb. vs. $4.99 per lb. at Whole Foods. Granted, Whole Foods’ cherries are organic…I just can’t bring myself to pay that much for a bag of cherries.
Small coffee at Cafe Rooze while waiting for our buyers. The last time I ever saw my car keys.
After selling the car, we decided to go celebrate by going out to eat at a new Indian restaurant that opened up in downtown near Jack London Square. The name was Ghazal. I found out about it when I was walking home from Barnes and Noble about a month ago. The verdict…? ehh… the food was good, but it wasn’t great. Their version of spicy was a little different than I was used to. Normally the word ’spicy’ in Indian cuisine refers to the amount of spice (i.e. coriander, fennel, star anise…etc..) you want in your dish. The other ’spicy’ refers to how ‘hot’ a dish is in regards to the amount of chili peppers. Ghazal used the latter, which totally threw me off. I mean I liked that it was ‘hot’ I just wasn’t expecting it.
In a rating of 1 through 5 with 1 being “I hate it” to 5 being “I love it,” it earns a 2.5.
Appetizer
Main courses: The one on the left was the Channa Masala. It was waterier and less herb spicy and more pepper spicy than normal. The one on the right was my favorite. It had egg plant that was cooked in and open fire oven and mixed in with herbs and peas. Really nice.
and of course naan and rice
Snacks: small nectarine and a tiny bowl of Silk plain yogurt topped with granola.

Congrats on your car being sold! And I totally know what you mean about cherries….I just can’t afford organic all the time! I’ll only buy it if it’s just as cheap or on sale. The eggplant dish does look good…as does the nann…nann is so dangerous for me…I honestly can’t stop eating it once I start! Potato nann is my favorite though…other veggie dishes I like are aloo gobi…have you had that before?
have a great weekend Leng!
