Breakfast: Coffee with hazelnut biscotti (not pictured). Later on I snacked on some chile spiced mangoes from TJs.
Snacks: I thought I’d try something new with a carrot cake cliff bar. I had only half yesterday and this is the second half today. It wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. The carrots in it seemed more raw and the pieces all seemed a bit chunky.
Fresh grapes. Mmm! Sesame seed buns.
Dinner: Pad Thai with Kat na, carrots, green beans, mung bean sprouts, tofu, and peanuts.
Dessert:
More tart green seedless grapes and a small bowl of gelato.

Breakfast:
This is a first…..starting the day off with a salad (lettuce, spinach leaves, tomatoes, and chickpeas), no dressing. After the pizza and ice cream night, I feel like I should start off today a little healthier and make sure that I get healthy vegetables in. There was also coffee, but that was a little later with the biscotti.
Well….not too healthy, I had an itch to bake. Better get it out of my system now before school starts! Below are hazelnut biscotti dipped in white chocolate. They are so deliciously good that it’s hard to have just one cookie.
Snacks: Fage topped with nectarine chunks and granola. Later I had half of a carrot cake cliff bar.
Dinner:
The other day at Ranch 99 we picked up a package of mock meat. The brown cubes are smoked tofu..
These think sheets are mock ham (soy based) wrapped in tofu sheets) and in the picture to the right, I have no idea what it is. I’m pretty sure that it is soy based though.
Green beans and tomatoes with brown rice is always a good night.

Chile-Spiced dried mango?!?!?! Now THAT sounds perfect – I need to get some of that.
Yeah, I was never too keen on that flavor of the Clif bar either.
Pad Thai + grapes + breakfast salad (inspired by Miss Gliding Calm, right?? haha – love her breakfast salads) + biscotti = YUM!!!

MMm I love greek yogurt + nectarines. I got a bunch of fruit at the farmers’ market this weekend for $1/pound as the market was almost over… Instead of granola I actually topped it with some mint chutney from the farmers’ market – it was really good.

I have to say that that mock meat freaks me out just a tiny bit. It’s so realistic!
I also have a carrot cake cliff bar sitting in my room just waiting to be tried. I’m not sure how excited I am after your enthusiasm towards them though haha. But who knows, maybe they’ll become my favourite bar… who knows.

Liz: The veggies for breakfast were definitely inspired by Emma (the salad Queen). I realized that I need to start upping my veggie intake. Lately I’ve just been not really putting any thought into it.
Magpie: Going to farmer’s market is always a cool event! They have all sorts of interesting food and items there. I actually bought my red ear slider turtles there. haha.
VeganCowGirl & Kristie: haha, it does look so real, but don’t worry it didn’t taste even close to meat. If it did, I don’t think I would have been able to eat it all.
Emma: I love things with, especially desserts with sesame seeds! I have no idea why I love it so much, maybe because it gives me a comforting feeling from my pleasant childhood memories. Anyway, yeah that carrot cake cliff bar didn’t do it for me. It wasn’t sweet enough.
