It’s Thursday already!?
Wow I can’t believe it’s already Thursday and I haven’t posted anything about the weekly dinner menu or the budget! That was super fast and unexpected!
Well, like I said in my last post, I have an announce for this Friday. I’m excited about it because I’ve been doing some writing on the side to prep. Can’t wait!
As I promised here is the menu for the week:
Weekly Dinner Menu:

Pho
Monday
Veggie Stir fry.We ended up having Pho again. Remember I locked myself out in the freezing cold…?
Tuesday
Hot Pot
Wednesday
Leftover Hot pot

(from VwaV p. 168)
Friday
Stewed Tofu & potatoes in Miso gravy

Budget:
Last week: $6.95 (last total balance) – 3.50 (coffee) = $3.45 (new total)
This week: $80.00 – 41.00 = $39.00. The $41.00 was spent mostly on veggies, mock meats, fruits. Yesterday I went to buy 2 Vietnamese sandwiches + 1 iced coffee + 2 desserts totaling $11.00. It was expensive for the amount, but I was really tired.
Highlights of my eats for the week:
Salad Challenge is over, but I’m still in the habit of eating them.
Mixed greens roasted veggies (sweet potato, zuc, onion, bell pepper w/ a mixture of spices) Soy based mock meat nutritional yeast nuts: Pecans, cashews, sunflower seeds
Yao Hawn–Cambodian Hot pot!
Water spinach, mustard greens, mushrooms, zucchini, vermicelli noodles, quail eggs, soy based mock meat (above). Here is the base for the sauce.
whole grain Belgian waffles with banana-almond butter sandwiches on top and coffee
Vietnamese Iced coffee, cafe sua da
egg sandwich.
Miss Dottie workin’ it!
Loomis the pup whose being crate trained. More on that later.
<3<3 Morning kisses! <3<3
Alright, off to get ready for class. HOpefully Mr. Loomis won’t whimper and cry like our neighbor says he does when he’s home alone. Separation Anxiety….working on that. Yesterday he wasn’t crying. I think the treat stuffed Kong kept him occupied. I’m going to put up a camera to watch what he does, but I only have tape (yes, I know old school) that records for one hour, so it’ll be just the first hour recorded. I’m interested in what I’ll see….

Yummy salad!
YAY @ crate training – I am a believer.
I have found that it helps to ignore my pups when leaving the house and coming home. And a treat to go in the crate also helps!

Is Loomis lifting weights?! hahaha the celebrity, Dottie!
That salad looks so good, Leng! I’ve been wanting to try that recipe from VwaV, so I can’t wait to see how yours comes out… & to hear your big announcement!!! Good luck on the puppy-training… hopefully the potty-training is coming along, too!

Loomis is too cute! I’m crate training little Charley now too, I’d love to hear any tips/successes. I told Andrew that I wanted to get a nanny cam and he refused…hahah glad I’m not the only one who wants to spy on my puppy.

Loomis seems fine w/ both of the cats. Miss Dottie and her sister are just scared because his mouth is really big. haha. It’s pretty funny to watch.

You’re housebreaking the pup too eh? My gosh it’s so amazing how he catches on! I’ve had successes when he’s in the crate, but when he’s out and I get into something else, he poops and pees in the apt. I’ve learned to just let him out after he’s done his biz downstairs in the backyard. They’re this really cool dogsite that tells you EVERYTHING you need to know about puppy training. The site is called Dog Star Daily I’ve tried the sit, stand, and down tricks on Loomis that the trainer does for his pup Hugo. It really works!

Thanks!! taking care of a puppy is truely like taking care of a baby. You can’t let them out of your site! not even for one second. If I do then I’ll find poo.
Which recipe did you want to try out? there’s 2.

Yeah I’ve been working on the ignoring him part. He’s just so cute and it’s hard not to give in, but I do it because I know it’s best.
Crate training is awesome. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this before! I used to take care of my brother’s pitbull and training him to pee and poop on doggy pads is a major headache. Now I’ll recommend to anyone who’s trying to housebreak their dog to use a crate.
