Cool show, have you seen it?
Has anyone seen this show called Out of the Wild: Alaska Experiment? It is about 9 strangers volunteering to venture out to Alaska and make it out to civilization alive. So far, there are only 5 people left. No one dies or anything. Each person has a GPS tracker tied to their waist to track them down. If someone wanted out they’d just press the button, which is also on the GPS tracker. Four people have pressed the button so far and the people left are all city folks. They have suffered grueling temperatures and many hungry nights. I feel sorry for them, but at the same time it is interesting to see how perfect strangers are able to learn to depend on each other throughout the show.
Anyway, here are my eats..
Brown Cow Peach Yogurt with Nectarine chunks. This was extremely refreshing, especially during a hot day.
Boca Patty Sandwich with mayo, ketchup and lettuce cooked on a cast iron skillet to give it those nice marks.
The name of this dish is Hot Macaroni from Jay Soloman’s 150 Vegan Favorites. It was uber good. I felt that it needed cheese, so I added in nutritional yeast flakes. That did the trick nicely.
This meal was a last minute. We were both really hungry and did not want to go out to eat, so I whipped some stuff up from pantry.
Frittata w/ frozen peas and pearled onions with a mixture of seasonings and a side of potato au gratin.
This is Long’s dish. He likes to eat the pepper straight up

yum! i love nectarines!

My husband has been watching the show and I catch a few minutes in the morning while I’m eating my breakfast every now and then. It does look like a neat show. The amount of food they subside on is amazing.

Melissa:
My hubs and I record to watch later. It is really interesting. You should definitely watch it. It actually makes me want to go out there too
but, I’m sure I wouldn’t last in Alaska because there’s not much non animal protein sources. I think it’s only been about 10 episodes.
