out at the Dog park & more Jamba Juice Eats

Getting back into blogging mode requires that I take pictures of all the food I eat. Lately, I have been blogging, but I have not been taking photos of everything. I guess I feel that it’s the same thing over and over again. Like, I always have coffee/tea or pho or mi goi or sandwiches….it gets boring sometimes. Feels like I’m stuck in a rut.

The Jamba Juice tasting event actually helped me a bit. I now am thinking of incorporating more wraps into my daily routine. Maybe even those salads as well. It even revived my love of oatmeal…well, for the time being, that on my way to the Berkeley Marina’s dog park with Loomis, I dropped by a Jamba Juice location to get some of their hot blueberry-blackberry-oatmeal. It did not taste as good as it did during the tasting event, but it was better than the one I make at home for sure. Luckily I had something as filling as oatmeal because I would have been starving on the hike/dog park. Loomis is knocked out right now and Miss Dottie is trying to coax me into getting her some food. She’s always hungry before her feeding time. It’s funny…the only time that she meows is when she wants food or when someone is trying to steal her food. It’s more like she is the thief though. This morning she tried to grab Shabazz by the neck to try and get Shabby’s food. Miss Piggy should be her new name…..

Stirred up a bit… doesn’t that look yummy? Love the bright orange spoon!

Here’s my version a couple of days ago. Tasty, but not as exciting. I gotta venture out of just the banana and maybe head into other fruits.

Before leaving the Jamba Juice headquarters, the reps gave each of us the lab coat we were wearing, a Jamba Juice tote bag filled with:

    • 1 reusable aluminum water bottle,
    • a $20.00 gift card, which has already been maxed out with the food towards the end of this post
    • a booklet with information about the company,
    • a cap that says Jamba Juice on it,

Even with all those goodies inside, they let each of us fill it further with some of their new food!

Here’s what I filled my tote with:

    • 1 Greek Goodness wrap

    • 1 couscous and produce salad

Other Random Eats:

Long’s “happy eggs” that’s sriracha hot sauce he used for the “hair” and “smiley lips”

Remember when I said I was going to make the Vegetable Korma in my last video post…?

Sadly, it did not turn out good at all! I got lazy with the paneer and did not let it drain long enough that it completely crumbled in the curry sauce. It was like eating cottage cheese in curry–ack! Next time I try this, I’ll have to be more patient.

Chana masala: the person who wrote this recipe added lemon juice to it, which made it taste too tangy. It needs more spice and less tang.

this was Last night’s dinner: Sun-dried tomato pesto with penne rigate. Really good and filling. Instead of using Parm cheese for the pest sauce, I used nutritional yeast instead.

More Jamba Juice food:

Greens and Grains Wrap with a tangy mango vinaigrette and Lays potato chips on the side

My new favorite salad: Couscous and Produce

Channa masala = my all-time favorite Indian dish. Sorry that yours came out too tangy though! :-(

That blackberry oatmeal looks really good. What is it topped with? brown sugar? It looks crumbly and delish :)

yum! oatmeal looks delicious!

The eggs look much more like eyes instead of boobies if you scroll down far enough to see the smilie face. :-D

Yummy looking Jamba Juice fair…. yep, none even remotely close to me. :-/

Wow! That Jamba Juice Tasting sounds like so much fun! I would have loved it! How did you end up with that delightful opportunity?!

Loving the salad…under every light! haha I hate how I take two pictures in different lighting and can’t decide which looks better!

Nadia:

The topping is a brown sugar crumble. It is absolutely delicious. In fact, I want some more right now….too bad they only serve it until 11:00 AM :-(

Melissa:

haha did you mean “boobies instead of eyes?”

Emily:

The Jamba Juice Tasting event was fun. I got to taste lots of good food. Foodbuzz sent notifications to all of their Featured Publishers (I’m one of them; badge on the side), since it was at Emeryville (so close to my home), I jumped at hte opportunity. :-) Hopefully they’ll be more. tehehe.

The Jamba oats really do look delicious. How is the portion size?
In fact, all the new Jamba food just sounds awesome! How cool that you got a gift card :D

Lara:

The portion size for the oatmeal is 8.9 oz.-Very filling, but very delicious. I think I’ll have to try the apple cinnamon version next.

Mmm that oatmeal does look delicious! Love Long’s happy eggs. =) Great idea using nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan cheese in the pesto sauce! I’ll have to try that.
