Cycling, A Group Sport?
This morning, I woke up bright and early to drop Long off at BART.
When I got back home, I quickly jumped into study mode!
Did you know that the field of Sports and Exercise Psychology began during the late 1800’s and early 1900’s?
Norman Triplett, a psychologist from Indiana, was the first to conduct a social psychology and sports psychology experiment.
He realized that cyclists performed better when riding in groups verses riding alone.
Being a cyclist…well not more of an amateur cyclist, I completely agree that groups aka a team, helps keep me on my A game.
When I fell behind from the rest of my team, I would stop pedaling and cruise more rather than challenging myself.
I will definitely make more of an effort to stay with the pack!
Breakfast:
Coffee & hot cereal
Hot cereal. 1/2 cup of cereal, 1/2 cup soy milk, 1/2 cup water, 1 medium banana, 1 Tbsp agave nectar.
