Banana Oatmeal

Banana oatmeal with my morning coffee and a little bran muffin peaking up from behind the bowl.

I know most of you already know how to make oatmeal, but for those who don’t (like I was before), here’s what I did to get the right consistency for me. Hope this helps!

Banana Oatmeal

  • 1 ripe banana
  • ¼ cup of Quaker oats
  • 1 T. of brown sugar
  • 1 T. of ground flax
  • 1 t. Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ cup of vanilla soymilk
  • ¼ cup of water
  • Pinch of salt

Add soymilk, water, banana and oats in small sauce pan. Cook on medium heat until it bubbles slightly.

Stir for a couple of minutes

Remove from heat.

Add vanilla extract, brown sugar, flax and stir together.

Yep the banana is cooked right inside. I forgot to mention in the recipe that you should chop up the banana. The finer you chop it, the creamier it is. The bigger the banana chunks are the chunkier it is. I like the latter. I use old-fashioned rolled oats. Good luck!

Cook the banana in it? Gotta try that! Are these the quick cooking Quaker oats?
